Scanner Responsibility

Thank you for agreeing to join our select group of panelists. We are a world-leading provider of market research, information and analysis, with a long history of carefully honouring the privacy of panelists. If selected to become a member of one of Nielsen’s panels, you may be supplied with one (1) Nielsen panel scanner per household for data collection. Nielsen makes a large investment in providing the technology of the scanner to its panel members, and any loss or damage to the scanner severely impacts the effectiveness of the Nielsen Homescan panel program. We ask that you take special care in using and maintaining the Nielsen panel scanner. The Nielsen panel scanner remains the property of Nielsen at all times. Upon your withdrawal from participation in the panel or at any time as requested by Nielsen, you agree to promptly return the scanner to Nielsen.
